MENA Regional Consultation on CSO Development Effectiveness
On the road to the Fourth High Leven Forum (HLF4) on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, South Korea (November 29th to December 1st, 2011) and in the context of the Arab uprisings, ANND and Open Forum for CSO Development Effectiveness (OF) organized the MENA Regional Consultation on CSO Development Effectiveness to provide a venue for CSOs, parliamentarians, donors, partner governments and other key stakeholders to discuss their respective insights and perspectives on aid effectiveness and implementation of Paris Declaration (PD-2005) and the Accra Action Agenda (AAA-2008). The main target for this Regional Consultation was to discuss and to define ANND’s position for the next HLF4. This consultation is part of the MENA civil society regional consultation workshop on aid and development effectiveness. The aim was to support the broad implementation of the PD and the AAA by developing CSO capacities in the region to engage in the aid effectiveness agenda. The Regional Consultation was held on November 15th, 2011 in the Golden Tulip Hotel, Beirut, Lebanon. Key Demand Raised by a Number of Civil Society Groups from the Arab Region The Fourth High-level Forum on aid effectiveness was held in Busan, Republic of Korea, from November 29 to December 1, 2011, in the midst of a historical phase that the Arab region is passing through, which is changing the political, as well as social and economic context and realities of various countries in the region.
