Launching of the Arab Watch Report on Informal Employment
The Arab NGO Network for Development, in cooperation with the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs, will be holding a workshop to launch the latest report from the Economic and Social Watch in the Arab Countries on Informal Labor. The event will be held at the Issam Fares Institute at the American University of Beirut on Monday 8 May 2017 from 9 AM to 5 PM.

In addition to launching the report, the workshop aims at beginning a serious debate on informal labor in the Arab region in general and will focus on the following areas:

The regional and international context of informal labor, with a presentation of the findings of the Arab Watch Report and a comparison with global experiences.
Organizing Workers in the Informal Sector: Elements of Success and Best Practices.

Results of National Reports on Informal Employment in 6 Arab Countries
Informal Employment- Policy discussions and recommendations, with a focus on the impact of neoliberal policies and the question of migration.
