Brief : Sawsan Abdulrahim is Professor of Public Health in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut. She obtained her doctoral degree from the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor. Her research centers human rights principles to illuminate social inequities in health across the life course, with a focus on the well-being of refugees and labor migrants in the Arab region and beyond. She utilizes mixed methods in her work and has led complex implementation research studies in forced displacement settings. Abdulrahim’s substantive areas of interest include gender, migration, and health; aging and care; and the well-being of women migrant care workers.
