Brief : Zahra Bazzi is the Programs Director at the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND), a position she has held since 2011. She leads the design, coordination, and implementation of regional and multi-country programs focused on development, governance, and human rights, with a strong emphasis on economic and social justice, equality, and rights-based policy reform in the Arab region. Her work includes overseeing research coordination, managing complex donor-funded projects, and translating evidence-based analysis into advocacy and policy engagement at national, regional, and international levels.Zahra brings extensive international experience to her role, working closely with civil society organizations, UN agencies, and development actors across the Arab region and globally, including professional experience in Canada. She has played a central role in building partnerships, supporting regional coalitions, and strengthening civil society engagement in policy processes related to development, governance, and accountability.Prior to joining ANND, Zahra worked as a Program Associate with the UNDP Programme on Governance in the Arab Region (UNDP-POGAR) and the UNDP Anti-Corruption and Integrity in Arab Countries project (UNDP-ACIAC), where she contributed to regional initiatives on democratic governance, transparency, and anti-corruption. She holds a Master’s degree in International Trade Law from Beirut Arab University and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Lebanese University.
